George Bailey guides Kings XI Punjab set a target of 156 against Kolkata Knight Riders

Kings XI Punjab playing the second match in a home away from home match at the  Maharashtra Cricket Association, Pune against Kolkata Knight Riders on a Super Saturday set a target of 156 after being invited to bat first by the opponents skipper Gautam Gambhir. Amidst the continuous fall of wicket at the other end it was KXIP captain George Bailey who smashed a knock of 60 off 45 deliveries to help the side register the fighting total 155/9 on board. In a repeat of last year’s final, KKR took on KXIP in an away match where he won the toss and elected to field first. Punjab could not have got off to a worst possible start with Murali Vijay dismissed in the first over without disturbing the scoreboard. Wriddhimann Saha and Virender Sehwag played few handy shots but departed under five overs adding to the misery of home side. Glenn Maxwell who is star batsman of the franchise is yet to fire this season was give a lifeline by Yusuf Pathan at the individual score of 14 but he could not convert it into a big score after being removed by Umesh Yadav.

There was single change in playing XI for both the sides with KKR bringing in pacer Umesh Yadav in place of K.C. Cariappa while Kings XI have replaced Thisara Perera for David Miller. Thisara Perera could not be much use with the bat and one will have to wait and watch for his bowling contribution.
