Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell left an interview mid-way to go and hug legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar. The incident took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) after the 2015 ICC World Cup final was over. Australia beat co-hosts New Zealand to lift the coveted trophy for the fifth time in 11th attempt.

For many Sachin Tendulkar is no less than god. The former batting maestro was at the iconic venue for the final as the ICC Ambassador. He even stood in the podium during the post match presentation alongside ICC Charman N Srinivasan and ICC CEO Dave Richardson. His mention by presenter Mark Nicholas led to a loud cheer from the 93,000 crowd that had gathered at the MCG.

Sachin Tendulkar has the record of most appearances adn run in Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He has also scored most runs in a single edition of the world (2003) and world cups overall. He is the only batsman to have gone past the 2,000 run mark in the world. He achieved the feat in 45 matches, putting him second in the list of most world cup appearances, behind Ricky Ponting.
