Netherlands vs Costa Rica_Key Players

Tournament favourites Netherlands will meet surprise darling of the tournament Costa Rica in a match that will decide who clinches the final semi- final spot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Here is a compilation of some of the players from both the sides hoping to make it count for their team.

STAR PLAYERS

Arjen Robben: Yes he dives at every opportunity available but there is no denying the skills this crafty winger possesses and would look to put behind the diving controversy when he takes on the Costa Ricans in Salvador.

Bryan Ruiz: He is probably the most well- known figure in the squad and the Costa Rican skipper would have to play to his potential if Costa Rica are to progress at the expense of the Dutch.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR NETHERLANDS

Wesley Sneijder: After scoring the all- important equalizer against Mexico in the previous game , Sneijder’s confidence must be sky high and the Galatasaray man would be hoping for a good match in midfield for Netherlands.

Robin Van Persie: The Dutch skipper has excelled under his current national and future club boss Luis Van Gaal and has spoken of their special bond that has got the best out of him. After a mediocre performance against the Mexicans he would be desperate to be on the score sheet again.

Dirk Kuyt: The industrious midfielder has slotted quickly in the wingback position and his workman like game contributes greatly to the team’s success.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR COSTA RICA

Joel Campbell: The Arsenal man has run defenders ragged in the tournament so far and his combination play with Bryan Ruiz might just open up the Dutch defence.

Keylor Navas: His man of the match display against Greece brought his team to the quarter finals of the World Cup.  Navas would be hoping to continue his magic when his side take on the Dutch for a semi- final berth.

Christian Bolanos: The Costa Rican winger has been one of the top performers of his side and has may be found a club for himself with his display in Brazil having come into the tournament as a free agent.
