In Chandni Chowk, Advani invokes Atal for support
In his first election rally in Delhi before the Lok Sabha polls at Chandni Chowk on Friday, veteran BJP leader L K Advani invoked former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee repeatedly and his “adarsh raj” while soliciting votes for Delhi BJP chief and the party’s candidate from the constituency, Harsh Vardhan.
Reaching out to Northeast, BJP warns Beijing
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reached out to the Northeast on Thursday by sending a terse message to China, cautioning it to adopt a developmental attitude towards India.Banking on welfare measures announced for region during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the BJP on Thursday reiterated the message of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi that, “No power on earth can take away even an inch from India…China should give up its expansionist attitude and adopt a development mindset.”

BJP could get 206 to 218 seats in Lok Sabha elections, says opinion poll
The BJP could cross the 200 mark and get up to 218 seats in the Lok Sabha while the party-led NDA could win between 234 to 246 seats, putting it within striking distance of forming a government if polls are held today, according to an opinion poll released Friday.The CNN-IBN-The Week tracker projected that Congress was poised to get 94 to 106 seats and the party-led UPA could get 111 to 123 seats.
