Rupee up 11 paise against dollar in early trade
The rupee went up by 11 paise to 60.31 against the dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange.
Mumbai, Apr 30: The rupee appreciated further by 11 paise to 60.31 against the dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on continued selling of the US currency by exporters and increased capital inflows.
Forex dealers said besides selling of the American currency by exporters and banks, gains in other Asian currencies against the dollar and a higher opening in the domestic stock market also supported the rupee.
The rupee had gained 23 paise to close at 60.42 against the dollar yesterday.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose 76.45 points, or 0.34 per cent, to trade at 22,542.64 in early trade today.
