Asian Games 2014: Indian rowers qualify for final

The Indian rowing teams of Dung Dung Sanjukta-Pratap Tarunikha and Roopendra Singh-Manjeet Singh qualified for the final rounds of the women's pair and lightweight men's double sculls, repectively.

Asian Games 2014: Indian rowers qualify for final

Incheon, Sep 20: The Indian rowing teams of Dung Dung Sanjukta-Pratap Tarunikha and Roopendra Singh-Manjeet Singh qualified for the final rounds of the women’s pair and lightweight men’s double sculls, respectively, at the Chungju Tangeum Lake Rowing Center at the Asian Games here Saturday. Sanjukta and Pratap took eight minutes and 24 minutes to cross the qualification mark of 2,000m to qualify in the women’s pair event.

Roopendra and Manjeet finished second to qualify for the final, having recorded six minutes 44 seconds to cross 2,000m in the lightweight men’s double sculls. In the lightweight men’s single sculls, Dushyant Dushian finished second to qualify for the repechage round in seven minutes and 23 minutes. In the lightweight women’s quadruple sculls, Dittymol Varghese, Khumantem Monalisha Chanu, Thangjam Chaoba Devi and Xess Manjula finished second to qualify for repechage round. They took seven minutes and 10 seconds to clear the 2,000m mark.
